    Spanish to German Translation

    Spanish language
Spanish is the native language of 358 million people in the world, and a total of 450 million people worldwide. It is the second most natively spoken language in the world, after Mandarin Chinese. In addition to Spain, Spanish is the official language of many countries of South America, such as Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, and others. It is widely spoken in several other countries, including United States, Canada, Morocco, and the Philippines.
Spanish people tend to call this language Español, and also call it castellano, i.e. Castilian, the language of the Castile region, when contrasting it with other languages of Spain (such as Galician, Basque, and Catalan). In this manner, the Spanish Constitution of 1978 uses the term castellano to define the official language of the whole State.

    German language
While the French language was the language of diplomacy and culture, German was the language of commerce and government in the Habsburg Empire, which encompassed a large area of Central and Eastern Europe. Pronunciation of the German language is pleasingly simple. Traditionally German was written in a Gothic style known as Fraktur, which dates from the fourteenth century. However, from 1945 onwards, the Roman characters used throughout the rest of Europe superseded Fraktur. In addition to the 26 standard letters, German has three vowels with Umlaut, as well as the Eszett.
